Upgrading to 794 breaks active directory

I have 2 systems (U4-423 & F6-424) I upgraded today and now have Active Directory issues.

I upgraded the U4 from build 783 to 794. It retained my active directory registration, but no longer enumerates domain users or domain groups. If I hit the Settings-->Privileges-->Domain-->Domain Users (or groups)-->"refresh" button, it tries for a few seconds then I see a toast fly out with red text saying "Operation Failed".
Accessing shared folders remotely honors my previous AD user/group permissions, but I cannot enumerate users/groups to change permissions.

The same has happened with my F6 with the slight nuance that I first upgraded from 75x (I can't recall what it was) to another, intermediate build (like 783?) then upgraded to 794. The first upgrade broke Active Directory. I had to reregister the NAS with my AD domain. The upgrade to 794 was fine but just like the U4, domain users and domain groups are no longer enumerating.

Both devices' shared folder AD permissions do seem to work correctly from a remote device.

Hello, please confirm that the network environment and domain server have not changed before and after the upgrade. Can both the PC and TNAS ping your domain server and resolve it to a normal IP address?

Correct: the AD domain has not changed at all.

And, yes, the nas and my clients can dns lookup, ping, and ad interact (eg ldap queries, etc.) The domain server. My other (non nas) devices/servers are interacting on the domain as e xpected.

Please go to the official website's live chat to book an engineer for a remote inspection.

Let's try another way. My NAS devices are on a closed network. I cannot let anyone in to access domain protected assets.

Are there logs or traces I can generate for you?

Please repeat the relevant operation. Once the abnormal prompt appears again, please generate and download the system report package in TOS Desktop > Technical Support > Report Issues, then download and send it to us for inspection (before you shutdown or reboot the NAS). This might allow us to discover something.
You can provide us with the system report by sharing a cloud drive link or a WeTransfer link.
You can send the link to us via private message on the forum.
ucp.php?i=pm&mode=compose&u=2405
You can also send it to [email protected] (please include the URL of this post and your forum nickname).
