Deduplication Manager- Guidance needed

I searched for info on the Duplication Manager App and couldn't find anything on How to use it.
So I set up a Test directory and copied some 2 directories of music files into the test directory. The directories had music files in sub folders that were some duplicates and some not.

Ran an Auto scan and a manual scan and the duplicates were detected,

However neither the manual scan or the Auto scan did any observable removal of files or inserting links. and the directory size did not change.

What am I missing? Do I need to create a User ( with read write permissions for those directories?) for the Deduplication Manage app? ( If so how would I do that?)

Thanks

Are you mentioning Deduplication Manager within TOS APP Center?

It only supports merging duplicate files by hard linking them to save capacity, there is no ability to delete files.

If you want to delete duplicate files, you can use a third party de-duplication tool on PC/MAC to de-duplicate from SMB network mapped disks.

Thanks for the reply.
Question: How does hard linking them save capacity? Saving both files with the same space?

Yes, you can understand it that way.

Deduplication Manager processes duplicate files through file hash values. (It is related to image content, not file names.)
