[Help] Initial config with existing RAID1
Posted: 13 Dec 2025, 01:00
Hello-- I am the happy owner of a new F4--425 Plus, and have a question regarding initial configuration.
I have an existing 2-disk RAID1 array and I had the impression that you can mount an existing RAID array on this NAS.
Ultimately I have 4 drives to use in this NAS, which will include the original 2 disks that were part of the RAID1 array. My goal is to first grab everything off the 2-disk RAID1 array and backup to an outboard USB drive. Then I will add two more disks, configuring the 4 disk NAS, and finally move back the data stored on the USB outboard drive to the NAS
I am hoping this is possible, and that some folks here are well versed with the NAS and its software and can point me in the right direction.
Thanks for any suggestions or advice.
