[Help] F4-212 (2G) & 22TB Exos x22

Hello there,
bought a brand new Terramaster F4-212 (2G) and, after some research, two 22TB Exos X22 (ST22000NM001E).

The Issue:
- Start the TNAS with no drives inserted
- Not any beep immediately (apparently some TNAS do this after 5 seconds?)
- After ~30 seconds: 3 beeps
- I can find the TNAS in the windows desktopApp aswell as in the browser to start the initialization
- Of course no HDDs are found
- -> I insert one of the Exos, 1-3 seconds later the TNAS fan spins up to maximum and the device shuts down completely.
- -> This happens everytime, for any combination (HDDs in from beginning or later, just one HDD or both, always shuts down when inserted)

Problem solving so far:
- Inserted an ancient 1.5TB WD15EARS hard drive into the TNAS.
- It is detected without issues, initialization starts properly.
-> So likely no issue with the TNAS itself? (But did not continue the initialization any further on this disk)

- Attached the Exos to my windows PC; could format them in windows without issues, a long chkdsk detected no problems.
- Tried out some recommended firmware settings through SeaChestUtilities, that are apprently causing known hiccups for Exos in home environments:
- EPC disabled (was enabled by default) -> TNAS still shuts down
- lowCurrentSpinup low (was off by default) -> TNAS still shuts down
- lowCurrentSpinup ultra -> TNAS still shuts down
- Did not touch PUIS - can't imagine how that would help, since the shut down already happens with just one single drive

From researching, it seems that most Exos are not recommended (because of noise - no issue to me), but applicable.
The ST22000NM001E though are not in the official compatability list.
Have I been too naive thinking this combination would work? :)
Or is there something wrong with the TNAS?

Any help or insights would be appreciated; thanks :)

It is recommended to select hard drive models listed in the compatibility list, as using hard drives not included in the list may lead to various issues.

Thanks for the fast reply.
Unfortunately I'm stuck with those hard drives.

Could there be any possible way to make them work regardless?

Based on the information you provided, it is likely an issue with the power supply.
This HDD model may require a significant amount of power to start up. If you have another 12V power adapter with a 5.5*2.5 interface that has a higher power output, you can try replacing the original adapter to have a test.

Replaced the included PSU of 72W with a different 12V 120W one - the TNAS and HDDS boot up and the HDDs are detected.
Thanks for the help :)
