[Help] Hard drive always Writing or reading

Hello,


I have red a lot of post about it. but never found any answer

i am on TOS6
NAS - F4-425 Plus just receive 3 days ago
OS : Installed on 1 NVME
DATA : ON 1 Volume of 8 TB (RAID1 : 1 Ironwol and 1 WD Red Plus)
EXT4 raid is normally finish

I disabled all service and all application, i kept only ssh.
I disabled all application like docker or wathever

my hard drive make scratching noise it s really boring to hear and they never spin down.

I have no clue what can do that problem.
can somebody help me

You can try using the SMART value check in Control Panel - Disk Management to check the health status of the abnormal disk.

yes i am trying that. long test on both disk i will past here the result

I had exactly the same problem with my F2-425 Plus. From the link provided by a TM staffer, it was something called 'Lazy initialisation' which runs after the drives have synchronised but I still don't know what's actually doing or why. It took about 20 hours for my two 18TB HDDs in RAID1 to finish. So leave it alone for another day and it should finish.

[Edit} I see I'm late responding to this. Did the drive activity eventually stop?

hello 2 days after my first post here. it was solved. then now it s ok i am just suprised by the time it took thanks for support
