What is the process for Decrypting data using CloudSync?
I set a new task to sync the folder back down and input the encryption key that i used to push the data up to the cloud. When it pulls the data down the data is still encrypted. What is the actual process for to do this?

In addition to the account and password used for connection, an encryption password needs to be entered. If the encryption password you enter is incorrect, due to the lack of a verification mechanism, decryption will proceed using the password you provided.
Decryption with an incorrect password will still result in incorrect files.
Please re-enter the right encryption password and retrieve the data again.
We will optimize this in future versions to prevent similar issues.

Is there a particular sync mode that needs to be used when pulling the data back down through "Cloudsync" to the Terramster. I am using "Download Cloud Changes Only" and while it does seem to pull the data down, it seems to still be encrypted?
Which Sync Mode should we be using in order to pull the data back down unencrypted?

The synchronous mode is fine. The key point is whether you checked the encryption option and entered the key when setting up the task?

How can I decrypt files encrypted using CloudSync if the Terramaster NAS has malfunctioned or is unavailable by any reason?

If your original NAS is malfunctioning or unavailable, you can easily restore and decrypt your data using another TNAS device:
- Install and launch the CloudSync application on another available TNAS.
- Connect to the corresponding cloud drive.
- Create a new sync task and set the sync direction/mode to "Download remote files only" (unidirectional download from cloud to NAS).
- Once the task runs and syncs the files back down to your TNAS, CloudSync will automatically decrypt the data into your designated local folder.

What would I be supposed to do if I don't have access to another Terramaster device?
For example, if:
- TNAS is malfunctioning or unavailable, I want to access the files from another device (PC, laptop, NAS from another vendor)
- I want to restore a backup to another (non-TNAS) device
- etc.

E.g. , different NAS vendor has special software ("Cloud Sync Decryption Tool") for such cases.
Does Terramaster offer anything similar? If not at the moment, are there any plans to release it?

There is currently no independent decryption tool, and I will forward this request to the product team for evaluation.

I'm really looking forward to the release of such a tool. Otherwise, the point of a backup that you (under certain circumstances) won't be able to decrypt is practically meaningless.
