[Help] F2-212 Bay2 dead?
Posted: 22 Sep 2025, 19:39
Hello,
i'm using a TNAS f2-212 and one day it just stopped booting up. No beeps at power on and, of course, TOS wasn't starting (TOS V5.1.73).
removed the HHDs and powered it on, i got the initialization web page working fine. i then placed the 2 HDDs back in and noticed that only HDD in bay1 was recognized correctly. I proceeded with reinstalling TOS, everything went fine but TOS reported a degraded RAID.
i removed the HDD in bay2 and connected it to a PC. HDD was recognized correctly and i was able to see the partion scheme in it.
But when i place the HDD back in bay2, TOS still report "no hdd in bay2".
Led light for bay2 turns on green, i can hear the HDD spinning but the led is always steady, it never blinks as it should do during I/O operations.
Is there something else i can try or my TNAS is definitely dead?
i purchased my TNAS on October 28, 2024
thanks in advance
