[Help] WebDAV Transfer Fails at ~470MB on TerraMaster NAS

Dear TerraMaster Support Team,

I am contacting you to report an issue I have recently detected with one of my TerraMaster NAS devices.

On my TerraMaster NAS, I have mounted the content of another remote TerraMaster NAS using the WebDAV protocol. I have verified that, when accessing the remote unit through the file explorer, if I try to copy a file and paste it into the local storage of the NAS, the copy process consistently fails and stops when it reaches approximately 470 MB.

To rule out the possibility that the issue is related to the remote NAS, I performed the same test by mounting remote content from other brands (Synology and QNAP), also using WebDAV, and the result was the same: the write process is interrupted around the same data size threshold.

As you can see in the images, when copying a file from the remote WebDAV drive to a local drive, the process begins successfully, but when it reaches about 470 MB, it fails. This also occurs if I try to download the file from the WebDAV-mounted drive directly to my computer.

It is important to note that this setup has been working correctly for many months. It is only now that I have begun to experience this issue, without having made any significant configuration changes.

I would appreciate it if you could investigate this behavior and let me know if there is any solution or update available to resolve it.

The copy issue you mentioned occurred when the file was close to 470MB. It might be due to unstable network bandwidth or WebDAV connection, which interrupted the transmission of large files. You can check your network connection and try to test it through a wired connection or a more stable network environment.
and based on the situation you described, it might be related to a file system error. Please collect a system report and send it to our technical support email, attaching the link to this post in the email.

I'm providing some new information.

My NAS is an F6-424 Max with 16GB of original RAM and TOS 60.694-00165.

I have several remote drives mounted via WebDAV over the internet: two to Synology NAS, one to QNAP, one to a TerraMaster F6-424 Max, and one to a Windows Server 2022 server. The error occurs with all of these connections.

The mounted drives are in a RAID with two NVME drives.

My NAS has LAN port 2 connected to 10 Gbps, as my internet provider offers 10 Gbps internet connection.

This configuration has been working perfectly for over a year.

I've updated the NAS to TOS version 6.0.750 and the problem persists.

As you can see in the image, when copying these three files from mounted WebDAV drives (three different NAS), the copy is interrupted when the file is about 500 MB.

This also occurs if I try to download the file instead of copying and pasting.

Hello! To better resolve this issue, please provide your TOS version number, enable Debug Mode, repeat the operation, and email us the log file for technical analysis.

(Debug Path: Menu → Support and Help → Report Issues → Fill in basic information → Download)

I already sent you the log by email.

On the other hand, I've solved the problem for now by installing rclone. I did this with Synology, and it works perfectly in TerraMaster.

Hello! Thank you for your detailed feedback and your patience throughout the testing process.

Regarding the issue where file transfers via WebDAV are interrupted at around 470MB, our technical team has completed a thorough investigation and confirmed that the root cause lies in the temporary file cache settings of the cloud drive service. Under specific scenarios, the default configuration parameters may result in insufficient cache space allocation during large file transfers, ultimately leading to interruptions.

We have already included a resolution for this issue in the upcoming system update. The problem will be fully addressed by optimizing the relevant configuration parameters to ensure stable and reliable transmission of large files.

We sincerely appreciate your feedback, which has helped us further refine critical system details. Should you have any further questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. We remain committed to providing you with timely support.
