Can I go with software RAID in Ubuntu server 24.04LTS? I like to mdadm.

I tried with another brand of DAS, but ubuntu never got past the recovery stage of a new RAID. All disks added properly, but never finished the RAID 5 build with 4 disks. Kept removing them after some time. I did move disks around and swapped out disks with spares.

In theory, it is feasible, but we have not tried it on this version of Ubuntu.

Would you be able to tell me that mdadm RAID 5 worked in server 22.04? I am returning the other DAS because it's not working as intended, and I would prefer to get something that actually works.
