[Help] D5 Thunderbolt 3 raid 5

Hello,
I have a question.
I have a D5 Thunderbolt 3 running with raid 5 with 3x20tb HD’s in it. Now I want to add another identical HD.
I have no idea where I can find the “add disk to raid” in Raid Manager Pro.
Any one can help me? Thanks in advance!

This can help you achieve what you want to do.

Thank you. I t seems that with Mac OS the "add disk" button is not available. And it says that if you enable autorebuild the system will add the new disk. But that did not work. No idea what I could do.

Only RAID Manager Pro on Windows can achieve this.
This operation requires you to maintain power supply and system stability. Due to the above risks, if possible, we still recommend backing up your data and rebuild the RAID.

One *could* make use of Prime to test the speed of a 16USB by backing up your existing RAID and copying it onto your new RAID.
If, sigh, the USB isn't fast enough, back to Amazon it goes...

But that is realy a big dissapointment. I bought this D5 thunderbolt with in mind to let it grow. What’s the point of having a DAS that can not expand in a normal way. Now it seems that I have to backup 40TB before I can make it a 60tb raid 5 DAS.
There’s no other solution available? And what if I would hang it on a windows laptop and do the expansion. Would it work later on my Mac Studio?

Hi. After expanding RAID and completing synchronization using RAID Manager Pro on Windows, you can still connect it back to your Mac. It remains a file system partition that your Mac can recognize.
