[Help] Howto backup windows clients for disaster recovery

Hi,

I am new to TerraMaster and BBS/CentralizedBackup and are looking for some guidance for Windows workstation backup before starting to evaluate and possibly buy. I would like to do some kind of system image backup, so I would be able to completely restore a Windows system if the computer dies/needs to be replaced (i.e. disaster recovery).

My Windows workstations typically have the following storage setup (GPT):
- one OS partition (C:), formatted as NTFS
- one data partition (D:), formatted as DevDrive (ReFS)
- the typical Windows system partitions for UEFI and WinRE

From the documentation, I've found that CentralizedBackup does not support ReFS volumes, so I am thinking about the following:
- do an image based CentralizedBackup of the C: and system partitions (Bootloader+WinRE)
- do a file-based TPC-Backupper backup of the D: data partition

So my questions are:
- Is this possible at all and also a supported scenario?
- What other options are possible (or what is the best practice here)?
- How is restore handled (how to ensure data consistency, if to seperate backups are used)?
- How about the storage efficiency? Is deduplication/compression possible in the backup store (talking about ~20 workstations)?

Thanks for your guidance!

Hello! May I know the version of the Windows workstation operating system you are using?

Regarding the D partition, please note that CB does not currently support the ReFS format. We would like to know whether you need to back up only the data within the partition or the partition information as well?

We need you to provide the above information to offer you a more accurate solution. Thank you for your support of TerraMaster!
