D5-300c Powering off randomly and power button not working

I have a D5-300c with 2 disks in single disk mode. Everything has been working fine but the unit has starting powering off randomly. I am using the original power supply. It sometimes takes 2 or 3 attempts when pressing the power button for it to power on again. Additoinally, when I hold the power button down for 3 seconds or more it is supposed to power down the unit, but pressing the power button for 3 seconds or more does nothing. I suspect the unit has developed a fault.

It is possible that the issue is related to power supply. Please use the original power adapter whenever possible, or you may try another power adapter with the same interface and 12V output. Additionally, please tell me the SN code of your D5-300C.

I have tried another high quality supply and its the same issue, it doesnt seem to power up on first attempt and nothing happens when you hold the power down for more than 3 seconds, it doesnt turn off. The serial number is 191200771.

From the SN code, it appears that the model is very old. Based on the information available, we can basically determine that the keypad or parts related to the keypad are faulty.
Unfortunately it is no longer under warranty and you can either try treating the keypad with an electronic cleaner or try replacing the keypad.

Yes, I have had it since new and of course knew it was not under warranty, but just looking for possible ways to save it from becoming e-waste if its just a keypad fault. Will try some electrical cleaner first and take it from there. Thanks for the information. D.
