[Help] [Aide] File transfer between 2 TNAS

Hello everyone,

I have two TNASs.

An F5-221 and an F6-424.

I want to transfer about 5TB of data from the F5 to the F6.

Is there an easy way to connect the two TNASs and transfer the data?

It seems obvious and simple to me, but the completely incompetent customer service is unable to answer my questions.

Thank you,
Erwan

Are both NAS connected to the same network segment?

There are multiple methods available (see backup section of GUI) but it really depends on what you want and what you feel comfortable with. I would probably opt for TFM backup via a 'Remote Folder' mount { Control Panel > Privileges > Remote Folder }.
You can either use it as a 'one-time' transfer, incremental backup, or as 'mirror' backup with it regularly syncing the source to destination.
I use the one time variant which I can run when I feel like it. Both Remote Folder and TFM are implemented on the Destination NAS which is usually switched off. I can start it up, remote folder mounts on boot (an option) and then run TFM task. (I don't do a full mirror in this case since I only wish to backup certain particular file types (A specific .xxx file extension). {NB: this is a fairly new use for me and not yet extensively tested.}

I also recommend using directory mounting for data transfer between two TNAS devices. Similar to how you would operate in Windows or macOS, mount the directory from the other TNAS via SMB/NFS to your local system, then perform transfers via copy-paste operations or the TFM Backup.
