[Help] D6-320

Hello All,
I am currently using the D6-320 with Ubuntu 24 to do some disk burn in and validate some new disks that they are okay.
While running badblocks on the drives, it seems that after a few hours of running, the devices disconnect.
I was originally using the c to c cable that came with it and that wouldn't stay connected to even format the drives.
The USB A to C cable that came with it was able to do the format and creation of partition table.
But this one, after a few hours of running, the disks disconnect.
Is there anything I can do to fix this?

You can try the following methods first:
1. Reinstall and reconnect the data cable and hard drive.
2. Try switching to a different port.
3. If you have another hard drive, try replacing it.

Hello,
I have tried a different USB A to C able and a different C to C with no difference.
I have also tried switch drives to another on and locations but it doesn't seem like it makes a difference and it is not always the same drive or location in the enclosure.

Hello! A customer once installed Linux on a NUC mini PC and encountered frequent disconnections with external USB devices. After investigation, it was found that the USB port signals on the host were weak. To solve this issue, the customer connected the TDAS device to an external USB hub, and the disconnections never occurred again. You can also consider this solution.

FWIW, I had a similar problem and solved it by using a very short USB A-to-C cable. (A very short C-to-C may also work, haven't tried it though). The stock cable is too long and causes disconnects due to its length.

Hello!
I'd like to confirm with you: when you encountered similar issues before, was the length of the USB A to C cable you used 1 meter (m) or 0.8 meters (m)? Additionally, could you kindly share the exact length (cm) and the brand of the USB A to C cable you ultimately used?

I used a generic 5cm USB cable that you get with AliExpress NVMe to USB enclosures. Works like a charm, including full UASP.
