Steps:
1. Power Off the TNAS Device
• Turn off the TNAS device and unplug the power cord to ensure it is completely powered down. Wait for 1-3 minutes before proceeding.

2a. Replace or Add RAM
1) Use a screwdriver to open the TNAS case and locate the RAM slot.
2) Gently press the clips on both sides of the RAM module to release it, then remove the RAM.
3) Align the new RAM module with the slot, ensuring the notch is correctly positioned. Apply even pressure until the clips on both sides snap into place. Make sure the RAM is fully inserted and securely fixed to avoid poor contact due to looseness.

2b. Replace or Add M.2 NVMe SSD
1) Use a screwdriver to open the TNAS case and locate the M.2 NVMe SSD slot.
2) Unscrew the M.2 fixing screw, align the M.2 NVMe SSD with the slot, insert it, and press it into place. Then, tighten the fixing screw.

3. Restart the TNAS Device
• Reassemble the device case, ensuring all screws are tightened and the case is secure. Plug in the power cord and restart the TNAS device.
Notes:
• Before purchasing new RAM or M.2 NVMe SSD, confirm their compatibility with the NAS device. It is recommended to choose models officially recommended by the manufacturer. Refer to the official compatibility list on the website: https://www.terra-master.com/global/compatibility/

Re: Adding additional RAM
If you are using F2/F5-221 you may find that there are small ribs on the front panel casting, adjacent to the lcd panel, that obstruct the sodimm slot.
This may depend on the sodimm model chosen, but I was using Corsair 8GB module. Best not to FORCE the installation.

In such a case you can loosen 2 screws holding the front panel to the motherboard - noting how the small metal brackets attach to the motherboard (for reassembly).
Gently move the face panel away from the sodimm slot [We are talking about, maybe, 1-2mm here] and complete installation of memory module.
Reassemble.

Can the F5-221 take an M.2 NVMe SSD?? Is there a slot for it on the board??

No, there are no nvme slots on the -221 models.

it took a few attempts to get the case off the F2-424 to locate the M2 Slot (couldnt see any instructions in the box), and had to resort to youtube to get a demonstration when removing all the screws on the back still didnt help, the F2-423 was a doddle in comparison when i added the extra ram as that made more sense to me

the "Use a screwdriver to open the TNAS case and locate the RAM slot." is a very vague statement, which is done in different ways depending on which model you have

incidently what should you do if when screwing the M.2 card in you get carried away and the screw snaps off in half leaving the remainder flush in the hole? (good job there was 2 slots) but obviously cant use the 2nd slot without it popping up as theres no way to secure it without some creative engineering , do you think a bit of glue onto something would then allow me to unscrew it to then replace the whole screw? or am i looking at trying to cut / drill my way

Hmm. Your conundrum prompted me to pop the cover off my -424 unit. I would suggest in the interim maybe some double sided tape on the underside of the nvme or, possibly some 'velcro' if it's not too thick. If you need a long term solution maybe a very fine dremel (other brands are available) cut across the top of the screw stub (and locator) might allow the stub to be removed with a small, flat bladed jeweller's screwdriver. You will, of course, need to be heedful of debris. Again some of the ubiquitous double-sided tape around the locator before cutting might help contain particles.
