Steps
1. Log in to the Router's Management Interface:
1.1 Open a browser and enter the router's IP address (usually found on the bottom label of the router, such as 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1), then press Enter.
1.2 Enter the username and password (typically "admin" by default, but it depends on your router's brand and model). If you've forgotten your username and password, refer to the router's manual or try common default combinations.
2. Configure Port Forwarding Rules:
2.1 Locate the Port Forwarding Settings:
• In the router's management interface, find the “Advanced Settings” or “Settings” option.
• Select “Port Forwarding” or a similar option. The exact name and location of the Port Forwarding section may vary depending on your router.

2.2 Add a Port Forwarding Rule (the following steps can be done in any order):
• Service Name: Enter a name for the rule to easily identify it.
• External Port: This is the port number you want to access from the external network (usually the same as the internal port).
• Internal Port: This is the port number on the internal device where the service is running (e.g., Plex uses port 32400).
• Internal Device IP Address: Enter the IP address of the internal device that will receive the external access request.
• Protocol Type: Choose TCP, UDP, or TCP/UDP depending on your needs.

3. Notes:
Make sure the selected port is not being used by another application. Also, ensure that the internal device’s firewall allows external access. If your router has a dynamic IP address, you will need to update the port forwarding rule whenever the IP address changes.
By following the above steps, you should be able to successfully set up port forwarding on most routers. If you encounter any issues, please refer to the router's manual or contact the manufacturer's technical support for assistance.
