Cannot setup OneDrive sync

Hello, I am having issues creating a Onedrive synchronisation. I follow these steps:
1. install Cloud Sync
2. create new connection, select Onedrive
3. a pop up authenticates my windows account, asks me to agree, I click agree
4. create connection hangs for a long time and eventually fails with "Operation fails"
5. cpu usage remains high for a while after that, and when it eventually dies down, there is a log error:
"Cloud drive connection (onedrive_test) creation failed (Error: ErrOperationFaild: failed to configure OneDrive: empty token found - please run "rclone config reconnect 6f6e6564726976655f656d6d616e75656c-0:"))"
I am on the latest TOS and Cloud Sync version 3.2.007
