Greetings,

In the File Manager under the new +. there is the options to add a file, add a folder, and add a new shared folder.
What is the difference between add a new folder, and add a new shared folder, with regards to things like access, R/W permissions etc.?

respectfully,

Shared folder always refer to "Share" in a Linux system with access permission settings for different file services. a share is a root directory for storage space in a linux system. a folder is a path created under a "Share". In other word, to your storage space in your NAS, you need to firstly create a Shared folder.
