Invisible Plex user

I'm trying to get Plex working on my F4-424 running TOS 6.0.577. I downloaded and installed it from the app center. When I try to select a folder to link with a library, I only see MultiMedia but not the subfolders (Movies, TV, ...). Thinking it was an access permission issue, I tried to create a Plex user and give it permissions but when I type the name Plex in the create user, TOS tells me that the user already exists, but I can't see it in the list of users. Are there some "invisible users" in TOS that I have no control over?

There are several such users depending on different apps installed - not just plex.

OK then, how can I change folder permissions for these invisible users?

I found a work-around for my problem. I had not realised that my media files needed to be moved to the Volume1/Plex folder. It is the only folder that the server will recognize. Is it possible to open up other folders like Volume1/Multimedia?

I had this same problem.
I originally placed media in a root folder of /VIDEO/, but Plex couldn't view the files.
Relocated to PLEX/VIDEO/ and all is well.
Thanks for your post. :D

I had the same problem until I realised that the Plex user is under: Shared Folders-Permissions-System Users. I was able to use any shared folder when I assign Read/Write to Plex user. Even I am using a external HDD where I have all the films, series and so.

I am using TOS 6.6.610-00165 and Plex Version 4.141.0 on a F2-423
