AS per the following:
The fan speed is abnormal. Please check for blockages or malfunctions in the fan.

------------------------------------------------------------

Device name: NAS-T1
Model: F2-424
TOS version: TOS_X642.0_6.0.577

TNAS System Notification
Accompanied by system 'beep'.

However, Fan in 'Auto' and spinning at about 1000rpm. (which seems normal) and nothing else apparent. No high temps either.
:?: What would trigger such a warning :?:

Same is happening on my new F2-423, just bought some days ago.

I have to say, however, that I don't experience that problem with a fresh install in two 2'5 HDD's I have for testing. The problem only arises when I plug the two 3'5 HDD's that were previously installed in a F2-221 with TOS 6 (upgraded in that other device from TOS 5).

By the way, despite I was trying to change configuration in Hardware & Power, to setup "automatic mode", the "apply" button doesn't seem to work properly. System says OK, but the new config is not saved.

Regards.

Yes, but that was back in December. Since then multiple changes to the o/s and not seen it again.
