Duple fails on brand new F8 NVME

Hello
I purchased the F8 SSD for backup purposes, fitted with brand new Patriot NVME SSD.
NAS is up to date on everything.
I have Veeam copying files on one volume through the LAN (no problem on this side), and DUPLE is supposed to secure it to the other volume (on same device).
Nearly every day, ranging from 40% to 85, DUPLE CRASHES THE DEVICE, and I have to press the switch to restart it.
Aa support engineer would care to answer and point me toward a reason or solution ?

This SSD is not on the compatible list. please make sure your SSD is healthy.

Hello
this is a high end SSD Patriot M300 and trust me they are all fine, everything is absolutely green everywhere in the storage area.
I rebooted the device with the switch, and then the 2 Duple backup worked (over 250 GB each).
As of today if I don't reboot the NAS before the Duple job it fails systematically.
A little bit too easy to blame it on the SSD don't you think ? ....

Hello! In order to solve the problems you may encounter more efficiently, please kindly provide the specific version number of the Duple Backup you are using. Meanwhile, you can export the Debug logs from the log module of Duple Backup and send them to our technical support email address:
[email protected]. We will give you an accurate and detailed reply as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation!

I think you're being too sensitive. Asking you to check if the SSD is healthy is a routine troubleshooting suggestion. You can search through the forum's history and find many issues related to disk abnormalities. Although the device seems to be working normally after you restarted it, there's no guarantee that the problem won't occur again after some time. Hopefully, as you said, the SSD is in good condition.

Hello
The Duple version is 2.1.042, the TOS version is 6.0.577
I sent the debug log as asked, please notice that it is full of PANIC logs.

Hello
no I don't think I am.
You just can't answer seasonned IT people like me (over 35 years in big infrastructures) with such answers.
As I said all SSD are brand new and high end, they perform perfectly, it is just DUPLE that fails systematically, not the NAS or the SSD.
I sent the debug log, RIDDEN WITH PANIC LOGS, to your support for enquiry, hope they'll help me.
If not I'll put the NAS back into its box, since I bought it SPECIFICALLY for the NVME architecture and the Duple software (needed to keep unmutable copies of Veeam repository).

As a follow up, the NAS crashed yesterday evening, I rebooted it this morning, restarted the Duple job, it crashed again as of now after 1 hour.

Firstly of all, as I checked, there is no such an SSD Patriot M300, I can only find the Patriot P300. Did you change the memory of your F8?
Did you install a heatsink for your SSD to avoid it to be overheating?
Please try to stop the Duple backup job, and monitor if the system will crush without Duple backup running. How did you run your Duple backup?
Duple backup is to backup your data from your TNAS to another device or cloud, what is your backup destination? If you have another SSD on the compatible list, you can ALSO give that a try.

Yes P300, all brand new.
Tested all at over 800 MB/s.
No memory change, right out of the box with latest TOS.
As explained, 2 of my Veeam servers remote copy their repository to Volume1 on the F8.
The purpose of DUPLE is to copy every day those 2 repositories from Volume1 to Volume2 on the same NAS.
As you can guess, it is for desaster recovery.
Since Duple fails systemtically, I'm currently testing BTRFS Snapshots + Snapshot copies to Volume2 to see if that helps.
Since it only involves BTRFS features and no 3rd party software I hope it will work.
