This might get deleted but I'll try.

Does anyone know what happens if the storage that TOS is install on gets wiped all together? Can you reinstall TOS from the "For new TNAS device TOS installation" image that is on the downloads page? Or if it's wiped it's done?

If the drive that holds TOS is wiped, then you default Volume (Volume1) and the storage pool (Pool1) are also presumably wiped and any data contained is also gone. So, you can treat that drive as effectively 'new' and install a TOS version from those available for your model (*.ins file).

I would add that I would, in such circumstance, use third party disk software on a desktop machine (or similar) to make sure that the drive was wiped initially and also wipe it again to ensure no remains of an old TOS system were left behind. It's the latter that usually messes up an installation.

The answer may depend on how you wipe it.
