Hi there. I bought an F2-212 about 6 months ago and have been running the latest TOS (5.1.73) since then.

I'm quite disappointed that there hasn't been *any* updates in all that time. 5.1.73 is getting very close to 12 months old.

By comparison, a roughly equivalent 2-bay NAS (218j) from Synology has enjoyed 8 updates in the last 12 months, most of them containing security fixes - https://www.synology.com/en-global/rele ... DS218j#7_2

Terra Master, have I bought abandoned hardware? Should I have stuck with a bigger brand - one that is supported?

you would have thought ahead, studied the options, weighed the benefits and verified the age/life expectancy of your proposed purchase. So, don't come back now and criticise. Get back on your bike.

6 months ago the last TOS update was around 6 months old. It's reasonable to expect a TOS update in the ensuing year, and it's also reasonable to provide feedback to TerraMaster when that is not the case.

Well in fact F2-212 was released Oct 2023 apparently. So its not exactly old...

We plan to update the system of the 212 series devices in the future. Thank you for your patience.
