Applicable models: All TNAS models
Applicable versions: TOS 5 / TOS 6
During or after the installation of the system, you may need to determine which disk the system is installed on. Below is a detailed guide for TOS 5 and TOS 6 versions:
1. TOS 5 Version
In TOS 5, all selected disks for installation are treated as system disks. Therefore, during the installation process, the initialization program automatically configures all selected disks as system disks. As a result, TOS 5 considers them as system disks and stores system data on them.
2. TOS 6 Version
TOS 6 supports up to two disks as system disks by default. Here are the steps to determine the system disk:
①. System disk selection during installation
Automatic Initialization: If you choose automatic initialization to install TOS 6, the system will automatically select the first two disks (e.g., HDD 1 and HDD 2) as system disks, based on the disk slot order.
Custom Initialization: If you choose custom initialization, the system will list all inserted disks, allowing you to manually select two disks as the system disks.
②. Confirming the system disk after installation
If TOS 6 has already been installed, you can confirm which disk is configured as the system disk by following these steps:

If TOS 6 has already been installed, you can confirm which disk is configured as the system disk by following these steps:
- Go to TOS > Control Panel > Storage Management > Disk page.
- On this page, you can view detailed information for all disks. The system disk is typically marked with a "System Disk" label.
- Based on the label on the disk, you can easily identify the current system disk.
