From D2-310 to D8hybrid

Hi,
I have 2HDDs in my D2-310 setup in RAID1.
Since I bought the new D8hybrid, I would like to move the 2HDDs from d2-310 to d8. How can I do without losing 2HDD data?

Both use the same USB to SATA bridge chip (ASM1352R), so yes it should be possible to transfer the drives between them, but you specifically have to use the first 2 SATA bays on the D8hybrid & move the selector to the correct option on the back of the unit, prior to mounting it onto whichever OS upon which the enclosure will be used.

So I put RAID1 on the D8 without HDD and then mount the old 2HDDs?Are you sure that I don’t lose my data?

It shouldn't, but making a full backup as a precaution should be a priority before this hardware transition.

To migrate your RAID 1 from D2-310 to D2-320/D8 Hybrid,
1. power off your D2-320/D8 Hybrid;
2. turn the RAID mode switch to RAID 1;
3. insert your RAID 1 drives to the corresponding slots in D2-320/D8 Hybrid;
4. power on your D2-320/D8 Hybrid;

There are no cast iron guarantees in this respect. There is always a chance of something going wrong. That is why the computer gods invented BACKUPS. Only ignore backups if yo8u can afford to lose the data.

Yes. If you follow my guidance completely, your data will not be lost during this migration.
