I suspect that TNAS may have encountered a hardware problem but not covered in the FAQ

F4-423 not booting. Not one beep but beeps every second (I have a video if needed).

NAS stopped responding to ping. No access through web UI or SSH either. I forced power off by a long press on power button. Beep-beep-beep-beep… on restart. It already happened before but that time I unplugged the power cord for 15 minutes and it did boot.

The NAS has hanged several times with no warning. From the TOS web UI I couldn't find any notifications or logs for those previous hangs.

This time, I let the device off several times, always beeps repeatedly on power on. Waited up to 1 hour, LAN led always off, no network access (ping, SSH, web UI). HDD leds all green. Same behaviour if I eject the drives from the bays.

The device is in a box in the garage with the internet box, home automation server and switch. No monitor there. I moved it up to my office, plugged HDMI but no signal on power up (just beeps).

I could not find any similar diagnosis by web search. Looks like hardware issue, but not covered by FAQ. Beeps, no video signal, no network access.

Try to remove all your drives, and reboot again wihout drive. This time, check if the device can normally power on, and if you can search the device with TNAS PC or mobile app. when you reboot without drive, the web UI should guide you to the initialization page.

I already tried with no drives in bay. Same thing happens. Bips, no video signal, no lan led, no network access.

Hello, please try to boot without a driver and use the TNAS PC client to search. If you still cannot find it, I suggest you contact the after-sales team through the official website.

Thanks, I sent a message from the website.
I tried the TNAS PC client for Windows and the device cannot be detected. (tried twice with some minutes wait in between despite the really unnerving beeps at that point)

Looked like the website contact form is wonky. I got no reply from that. I emailed directly and got some more suggestions.

The beeping patterns could be a RAM issue. (I have not change the hardware since purchase)
I was asked to checked the memory module connection, possible issues with the contacts and try another location for it.

I opened the NAS, memory module looked well plugged-in. I removed it. It looks good, no visible damage or oxidation. I cleaned the contacts and plugged it in the other slot on the back side of the motherboard.

The device took a long time to reboot, but I finally got the 1 beep, and some boot sequence texts on the video output. System was still OK and once the drives all in bay, all the data accounted for.

I started a backup of the few things I stored in the last month. It is still possible the memory itself was flaky and moving it around just fixed things temporarily.
