f4-423 and PLEX

hey guys, total newbie to TM here. Thinking of coming over from a Synology NAS where I host my plex media server and store my movies. TM seems to be streaking ahead in terms of hardware, and the recent improvements on software seems to be gaining a lot of interest.
SO, has anyone got any experience of doing what I seek to do and can let me know if it is a wise move and pretty simple to achieve. I am not super experienced with software, but I can hold my own usually. The F4-423 is at a really good price just now, and I would load it up to 16gb memory on the unit and use a couple of M2's too and populate with WD Red drives.
Hope you can give me some good advice and tips! thanks, G
