The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing

Currently, we will not release the installation package for TOS 6, you have to install TOS 5.1.123 and then update to TOS 6. As mentioned in the release note, this is a beta version for testing, it is not recommended to use in a working or production environment.

The F4-420 is listed in your post, however TMRoy has stated that the 420 series is not supported on TOS 6 builds (furthermore, it wasn't part of the closed beta; it was excluded since the Insider Preview email).

OK, I was kind of expecting it already and have to admit 8 years really is a good support time.
I'm glad you continue supporting TOS5.1, that is great news - thank you!

One feature that I really miss is in 5.1 is the integrated text editor (it was available in TOS4). So apart from security patches this would be my only request. Hope there is a way.

Installed update double checked all and when update was completed the nas restarted and started beeping and i cannot reach the controle panel.
i got same error as the other guy NGINX cannot be started.

so nas is officially bricked.

DO NOT try the TOS 6 update if you have enabled FREE port 80 and 443 and changed the port of the webbrowser.

This could potentially be one of the failures why TOS 6 update do not work and disables the Desktop web interface!

Does the U8-420 fall under the 420 series or is it different internally & does qualify for TOS 6?

U8-420 belongs to the 420 series, please ensure that the TOS system is upgraded to 5.1.123.
