Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
yo creo que el sistema deve tener mejora en cuanto a no tener que reiniciar el nas para desconectar un volumen y cuando se traba una aplicacion o no se puede hechar andar tampoco deveriamos de tener que reiniciar el nas

My SSD system drive is the only one that shows as good. I have two that show 100 -98 and one 100-93.
Newest update 6.0.217 but was seeing it on first version also.
F4-424 Pro with 2x 12TB Seagate IronWolf HDD and a 20TB Seagate IronWolf. 1TB Samsung 860QVO as my system drive.
can we fix this ?
Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
SMART error 188 Command Timeout is a critical parameter, If there are a lot of command timeouts on your disk and the number keeps rising, you should be alert.

Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
Issues with Terra Photos Beta, seems that it doesn't like files or folders with ' apostrophe within name as the SQL inserts are not escaping the data inserted as apostrophe is a reserved character.

Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
We have been down this rabbit hole before and @TMsupport placed their faith in BackBlaze's analysis & findings. The following thread refers to the same but with a slightly different viewpoint:
https://forum.level1techs.com/t/s-m-a-r ... out/157204
There are lots of articles around on this subject, so you can make your own conclusions. IMO I consider that with new drives, the issue might (& I repeat might)) just be due to a poor connection with the backplane on insertion into the NAS.
My particular concern would be that the TOS system might be weighted to fail a drive and refuse to use it based on this criteria. This would be particularly galling since, as has been pointed out, the "chosen" and "built in" health measurement software (ie Ironwolf Health Management) does not recognise Ironwolf drives as being faulty in this situation. And, even if an outlying issue were to be the cause, there is apparently no way to overwrite the error condition.
The idea that a single timeout would be enough to fail a drive appears slightly ludicrous to me. But, that is what some people advise.

Re: The TOS 6 Beta Is Now Available for Public Testing
Please, compile and install (even as independent package) the LVM thin-provisioning-tools, specially the cache_check command
https://packages.debian.org/bullseye/th ... ning-tools
https://packages.debian.org/bullseye/am ... s/filelist
I think this is a MUST with now HyperCache using the LVM cache mechanism.
Even you could see the system searching at least /usr/sbin/cache_check
I would do it myself if I would have the knowledge to build in this platform with the proper headers and versions of the other already installed packages.
Thanks!!

The same was happening to me butjpeckinp wrote: ↑14 Apr 2024, 06:08 Updated to 6.0.229. Only obvious thing I noticed was that the stats on the hardware update. Now can see fan speed and HDD temps again.
Tried to update of HDD from 12tb to 18tb again and still not attempting to rebuild the traid. I did confirm this drive is good by installing in my computer and formatting and doing file transfers.
Not sure if the mods can elaborate on what changes were made in the updates?
A) it is first rebuilding /dev/md8 and /dev/md9 (raid of the OS itself and swap area)
B) Mine was stuck with the lvm cache trying to flush and the rebuild was stuck
C) after reboot everything started working again. Rebuilding is progressing and lvm cache flushing

All Seagate drives always show large values in the smart. That's why I never buy them. So I think it's normal behavior for them.jpeckinp wrote: ↑29 Mar 2024, 12:01 Is anyone else getting SMART error 188 Command Timeout on all their HDD's?
