I want to delete my HyperCache SSD cache and create a new one because I have have bought higher memory for the M.2 2280 NVMeSSD slot.
I get this message when I go to delete the cache: "stop all applications and stop the read and write operation of the volume"
What happens if I don't stop everything and delet it anyways?

If you delete the cache without stopping the application and stopping read and write operations on the volume, you may cause data loss or corruption.

Individual applications can be disabled (or stopped) from the Application Center.

Thanks. That makes sense for the stopping the applications.
Do I also need to stop the read and write operation of the volume? If so, how is this done?

Just don't do anything to this volume.

Thank you. Sounds easy enough.
