This is the first time I use a NAS, and I am still learning. Here's my question:
After the the auto initialization, a RAID was created from my 18TB & 12TB drives. The resulting volume is 10.9TB. I assumed that the 12TB is fully utilized already as the RAID volume should be based on the smaller of the two drives. But is there any way I can make use of the remaining free space of the 18TB drive? I can't find a way to create a separate volume out of that drive.

Sorry - as it stands currently, that's the way it is. Raid is a fickle bedfellow.

Possibly you could do it if you are willing to drop to the command line. You would basically need to create logical volume that pointed to the unused space. I personally would not risk my data to do so.
