create Volume or Storage Pool on USB drive

Hi again,

I'm running TOS 4.1 on a F2-420.

An external USB HDD (ext4) is connected and showing as usbshare1 in File Manager.

However, in Control Panel, both in Volume and Storage, "Create" is greyed out. How do I create a new Volume on this USB drive? I also tried to create a shared folder, but only the internal drives seem to be available for that.

thanks,

geb

hi gebseng,
You just can't create a storage pool or volume on a USB drive. A usb drive acts only like a folder and has its own file system like ntfs, FAT 32 or exFAT.

I see, thanks! Is there a way to rename a USB drive to something other than usbshare1?

The usb drive name is made by the system, and can't be rename.
