Attention: TOS 5.1 System Update

If your initial system was TOS 4.x and your system partition is 2GB, please refrain from updating to the new TOS 5.1 version. The updated version demands more storage space, and this requirement may not be met by your current system.

How to Check Your System Partition Size:

Navigate to "TOS > Control panel > System Info > Overview" and inspect the available space under the "/" section.

In the event that your TNAS does not meet the storage conditions but you wish to proceed with TOS 5.1.123, please follow the guidelines provided here: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=4912

Bugs Fixed:

1. Fixed some issues in Domain/LDAP.
2. Fixed the issue where empty mounting directories could still be seen after disconnecting virtual disks.
3. Fixed the issue where some applications could not display properly after reinstalling the system.
4. Fixed the issue where clicking "Next" was sometimes not possible during initialization.
5. Fixed the issue where some services became disabled after restarting TNAS.
6. Fixed the issue where obtaining user and user group information was abnormal when editing shared folders.
7. Fixed the issue where closing the proxy server was unsuccessful.

Important Notes:

• This update is exclusively intended for TOS 5.1.24 or later versions. If your current TOS version does not meet these requirements, consider updating to TOS 5 by reinstalling TOS.

• Users of TOS 5.1.37 should be aware that encrypted folders created in this version may face decryption issues in subsequent updates. It is recommended to back up data in the encrypted shared folder and delete it before proceeding with the update. This applies only to encrypted shared folders created in TOS 5.1.37.

• The kernel of TOS 5.1 has been updated to 5.15. As a result, Intel Celeron J1800/J1900 GPU drivers are no longer supported in these models. If you rely on GPU hardware video acceleration and own any of the affected models, avoid updating to TOS 5.1. These models include F2-220, F2-420, F4-220, F4-420, and F5-420.

• While the system update typically doesn't affect your hard drive data, it is strongly recommended to back up your data to ensure its safety before proceeding with the update.

How to Update Your TOS:

Manual Update:

1. Download the update package here (md5: 006133328fc3460827e5e77bcc3fdb07).
2. Go to TOS > Control Panel > General Settings > System.
3. In the "Manual Update" section, upload the update package.
4. Click "Apply."
5. After the system update is complete, refresh your web browser.
6. Note that your TNAS's IP address may change after the update; if you can't connect with the previous IP, search for the new IP using the TNAC PC client.

TNAS PC:

After updating to TOS 5.1, ensure that your current TNAS PC is updated to version 5.0.33 or a later version. This step is essential for searching your TNAS device.

It is recommended to uninstall the previous version before installing this version of TNAS PC.

I thought TNAS disabling services on its own was all in my head Lol. Thank you for fixing that issue.

After manual restart all going smooth

Upgrade from .103 to .123 went smoothly and over quick. Did a reindex after the upgrade and it seemed to go a bit quicker then previous versions. All seems to be functional for my use case.

I confirm, the domain/Ldap joining is much more stable (with one caveat still about the Strong Auth not supported by TOS yet)

Upgrade from TOS 5.1.67 to TOS 5.1.123. I can't enable the SMB service, also can’t connect to AD, I get the error Failed to enable domain service
