F2-423 M2 slots for extra storage only?

Sadly I got a bit excited when buying my unit and underestimated how much I wanted to store on the drives, buying only 4tb drives which I will be very stretched to upgrade (and buy something else to put the current drives in).

But I was thinking for the moment about some M2 NVMe SSD’s to put in the slots just for a bit of extra storage, however when I look at doing this I just end up with results about using them as a hypercache. Is it possible to use the slots to add SSD’s in just for straight forward extra storage whilst I save for a second NAS and bigger HDD’s?

Additionally if it is does anyone know of any 2TB ones that will work? The only ones on the compatibility list are ironwolf pro ones which are very expensive when other brands seem to do them at less than half the price.

You first deactivate all your NAS applications, then delete the hypercache, and you can create storage pools and volumes for M.2 NVMe SSD.

Ok thanks. I’ll try it.
