Encryption for whole volumes?

Hello,

i would like to know, how file storage encryption can be activated on the F2-223 with TOS 5? I found a lot about encrypting the shared folder, but how can everything else (the whole volume?) be encrypted? I read something about hardware encrypton, does this mean, everything is encrypted automatically?

I am not very familar with this, but this would mean, when someone grabs the HDD physically from the device, the data on it is encrypted and without the NAS itself, its not possible to decrypt?

I would rather like to "mount" the data every time i access it via network, since i wanna make sure, nobody else in the network (potential infected) or on the system itself can access the data ... and best without using third party software ... is this possible somehow?

Best regards

There is currently no function to encrypt the entire volume. You can make files more secure by transferring them to an encrypted shared folder. Regarding ransomware, you can refer to the following content to take some precautions: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=2877
