F2-212: Upgrade to TOS 5 possible?

F2-212: Upgrade to TOS 5 possible?

Hi!

I own an F2-212 (Celeron J1800 @2.4GHz, 2048 MB) which I bought 2017.
In the installation guide (https://www.terra-master.com/global/pre ... w/id/1255/) it is written that
The new TOS 5.0 system is only applicable to the x.86 series of TNAS models (220 series, 221 series, 420 series, 421 series, 422 series, 423 series)
While mine is an x.86 series, the 212 series is not explicitly mentioned - now I'm wondering if I even could upgrade to TOS 5.

There's no way that it's a 212 series device as those just launched very recently: https://www.terra-master.com/global/pre ... w/id/1735/. Based on the specifications you put in brackets, that's likely an ×20 series device & is fully able to move to TOS 5.0.× builds (you'd need to clean install to successfully move to TOS 5.1.× builds as those require an expanded system partition that older TOS 4/5 builds lack.). Login to the device or look at the label on the bottom of it to verify what you actually have.

Oh gosh - you're right, it is a 220. No clue how I came to the conclusion it was a 212 ... sorry for the noise. And thanks for the hint!

BTW: you mentioned I should log in to see the model - I guess I should be able to see it here:

TOS 5 can't update directly from TOS 4.x, you need a fresh new installation.
