System Info:
TNAS: F2-221
TOS: 5.1.79
Devices:
Windows 10
Chromebook
Issue:
After updating to TOS 5.1.X from TOS 5.0.X, SMB speeds have dropped from usual 100 mb/s and now average around 20mb/s, but have seen consistent speeds as low as 5 mb/s.
Hooking monitor up to TNAS while it's running, entire screen is a log of
Code: Select all
timestamp hpet: lost 7161 RTC interrupts
timestamp hpet: lost 7160 RTC interrupts
Remedies mentioned in the 5.1.67 update post say to either
change the boot disk order or to
disable hpetm however I can't do either of these in the BIOS, the option is simply not there.

Forgot to mention, I upgraded from 5.0 to 5.1, encountered slow SMB speeds, then did a reset and a clean install to 5.1 and issue persists.

Do you have scheduled "power off/power on" functions entered in the control panel? We have been down this path before.

Suggest you remove all the entries (disabling is not sufficient) and check SMB again. Please report back for my benefit if noone else's

@gremlin - disabling the schedule seemed to fix SMB, but I'll delete them next and see. Plugging the TNAS into a monitor, I can see the hpet: lost waterfall stopped soon as I turned the schedules off.

Thanks, that (disabling only) seems like a slight change from previously.

I did end up deleting the power schedules as well, just to be safe / I don't need them so why keep them.
It's probably a safe assumption that scheduling events, like enabling/disabling an app, would also cause hpet to turn on. I didn't have any of those but will keep in mind probably best not to set any.

I run customised scheduled event every day (find and delete files) and it has no effect. It only seems to be the power on/off schedule that has been an issue. (so far!)

Is it convenient to contact our technical support team for remote inspection?
