Ability to boot and run TOS from a USB Disk

Hey,
So, for those of us stuck with 2 gig partitions, a convenient way to boot and run the OS from a USB disk (or heck even a pair of USB disks in raid1) would be brilliant.
I can pick up 64gig USB3 disks relatively cheaply, and it wouldn't take much to make a fallback to installed TOS in case of failure.
Could still mount volumes from the array for storing settings and things.
I could probably figure out a way to make this work myself but it would be cool if it was an actually supported option.
