FTP / NVR Nightmare.

I am attempting to use this TOS as a offsite FTP storage device for my Turing NVR.
I can connect to my TOS via FTP client both as FTP / SFTP from out of network but my NVR wont upload video to my TOS
The NVR says that the connection is successful, I have forwarded all the required ports and port ranges at both the server network side and the NVR network side, but nothing is ever uploaded by the NVR.
I'm curious if anyone has ever had this specific problem? I tried both thorough Direct IP connection port 21 and 9333 FTP/SFTP as well as through a DDNS. Neither are working. I'm not entirely sure this is a terramaster issue as I said before I can connect and upload files remotely to the FTP.
Help Please.

I suspect quite likely nvr issue. I have a few IP cameras that will happily upload images to FTP (Mine is onsite) but no video. Video has to be recorded to SD card first before it can be uploaded. I have a HiLook dvr/nvr and that will not even 'find' Nas folders that I can clearly see and access. (I have read that the dvr/nvr needs to "see" a drive, ie the root, to recognise as a nas drive.) My ivms software will also not allow upload to FTP. Best I have managed is a mapped drive. Sorry can't help more, but not my "specialized subject"

Thank you for the reply I have a physical NVR so it’s set up to be able to connect to FTP using the drives internally to upload the back up to the FTP but for some reason it simply won’t connect I called Turing this morning and the guy didn’t even know what FTP was. It was very depressing.

I don’t mean to double post but I thought it was important to add that when I ping my FTP server via IP or the DDNS it shows 100% packet loss, but I can connect fine with FileZilla and write/delete and manage the FTP.

You have to create a share folder from TOS to store the recordings,
ipcamdirect as example
Inside this folder, using File explorer as example, create separate folders for each camera that you want to save the recordings,
garden and
kitchen as example
Then using the camera WebUI, configure the storage as below
Now you have a storage to save the recordings and pictures from your cameras

Thanks vm for your post. I'm OK up to stage 2
It's the next part(s) that are not working. While I have the shared folders on nas the dvr will not accept them or find them if I do a search. My dvr screen looks much the same as your image 3. It may be permissions/users - I'll figure it out eventually. Not important for me at the moment.

Instead of FTP you can deploy mail server on TOS and NVR and cameras will send screenshots throgh e-mail.
It works fine on TOS4 (Terramaster F2-210)
Tested with different cameras and NVRs, etc.

It is not a question of "seeing" the images - I already use email for "alarms". It's storing them (on the NAS) specifically. A still image from several cameras every few seconds amounts to a LOT of emails! And, yes, I do use video as well.

I use Dahua NVR and cameras with FTP server on TOS4
No any problem.
