3 x 16TB and 1 x 10TB TRAID becomes 5.43TB

Hey All,

New to ToS,

Installing a F423 with 3x 16TB (seagate ST16000NM0001G) and 1 x 10TB drives (placeholder as one 16TB drive was DOA)

after having some issues getting the system itself live and installed ( a semi dead drive can send you on a merry goose chase) we installed the system as stated above.

We used a TRAID as we will have to replace the placeholder drive before long.

When creating a storage pool the result is one storage pool with 5.43TB capacity, using all drives.

FYI when not using the 10TB drive in the TRAID i get 28,95TB of space.

So I am suspecting that the issue is with the 10TB drive somehow?

As a placeholder drive we installed a ST10000VX0004-1ZE101

replacement drive installed
created new storage pool
issue dissapeared. Looks like the 10TB somehow created a wrong size calulation for Traid

I have to correct myself

The 4th drive was installed with the same 16TB drive and the issue reappeared, switching to raid 5 for testing ( havent found a way yet to edit my own posts sorry )

switching to RAID 5 shows the correct size amount
problem is only with TRAID on 4 drives

TLDR
RAID5 doesnt show the TRAID size issue

We cannot make an accurate judgment based only on the information you have provided so far.
Before you decide to start saving data, please try to set up TRAID again, then please generate and download the log report in TOS > Technical Support > Problem Report, and then send it to our support mailbox as a network disk sharing link for analysis.
