Joining Active Directory

Hello;

my F4-210 has a nice feature called "join to Active Directory".
So we wan ted to join it to Active Directory and link it into our DFS as a File Server Drive

Joining to Active directory is only found, if you know, that it exists and you type it into the search field.
No menue is shown somewhere :-(

If you have joined the machine to Active Directory you ate not able to use the users or groups from Active Directory.

conclusio:
the function is not well implemented but will be very cool to have (for small businesses e.g.)
joining to Active Directory is not like "click and done", the form is not very helpfull
After clicking "Apply" in the form, and entering username and password to join, the joining screen can be there for about 2 days (!)
No feedback, if joining was successfull or not, you just get an object in Active Directory in the default path "QU=Computers"

I think this function should be implemented in a better was asap.

Best regards
Achim

Hi, thanks for your reporting, 210 models do not support this feature for the time being.

This is a really useful feature. the moment you join via Active Directory, you may encounter difficulties with security modes and its provision in General. So you can use azure adfs which is supported by Microsot and additionally secure yourself with adfs authentication via 2FA and generation of one-time pairs.

To have this feature, you need to choose the x86 series models.
