Greetings, as suggested here

I've purchased the F4-421 model and was able to plug in the HDDs and start the system without any problems. Everything seems to work as before. Now with a new device, I thought I should install the latest TOS version on it. I'm aware of the hints regarding TOS 5.1 and as it is, my system doesn't meet the requirements. The section to check the size of the system partition described here doesn't exist on my system, but sinze it's at version 4.1.30-2008051459, I think the size will be 2GB as stated in some other posts here und there. When I look at the page with the release notes, the first version, which has a warning regarding new TOS 5.1 requirements is "TOS 5.1.37", but prior to this version there are several other 5.1.x versions, which don't have this warning. Does this mean, that those version (up to TOS 5.1.33 as far as I see) can be installed without the mentioned issues or do they just miss the warning? Also TOS 5.1.33 says "This update is only for TOS 5.1.24 or later versions", but there isn't a version 5.1.24 on the release notes page, which is irritating as well. So my question is, which is the latest version I can install without the issues related to TOS 5.1 and if there is anything specific to know for the update process, which changed since my current version 4.1.30-2008051459?

The forum software removed all the line breaks for some reason and I can't edit the post anymore.

Yes it does that. Bugger ain't it?

Best bet if you want to advance to TOS5.1, follow procedures to WIPE your drives (after backup if needed) and do a manual (custom) install using 5.1 installation file (.ins). 5.1.41 is available.

Thank you, but my current question wasn't about advancing to TOS 5.1 ;)

While that's of interest in general, I'm still undecided. At the moment I wanted to know, which is the latest version I can get to from my 4.1.30-2008051459, before the requirement of the system partition having the size of 8 GB has to be met. Based on the release notes page it's not clear to me.

You also need to update to the latest TOS4.2.x first. It is recommended to only update to TOS5.1.24

In case someone has the same question: 4.2.40 was the latest available / compatible version in that case. Online-Update worked fine.
