Windows Security Error Accessing NAS

I installed a new TerraMaster F2-210 NAS system. I am able to access the device through TNAS PC, and I can get to the TOS Desktop through my browser. The device has an IP address on my network (192.168.1.253) and a network ID (NAS1). All of that seems to be working properly. So far so good.
However, I cannot seem to access the device from any Windows application. When I try to access the device from Windows File Manager, I get a prompt from Windows Security to "Enter network credentials." No matter what credentials I use, I get "access is denied". I have tried my master ID, a guest ID, I even tried a Windows ID. None of them seem to work.
I get the same prompt and the same error (access is denied) if I try to "Map Drive" from TNAS PC.
Any suggestions?

Thank you! That helped quite a bit. After installing SMB in Windows, and changing all TNAS passwords to eliminate special characters, I can now fully access the public and appdata folders from Windows. That's a HUGE improvement.
However, I'm still having a problem with new shared directories. I created a new shared directory, but I cannot access it via Windows. I get a prompt to "Enter Network Credentials" but I always get "Access is denied."
Any further advice?

hi i am having this problem. tnas pc sees the drive, its on my windows explorer. when i rebooted my computer, i can no longer access the drive. it prompts me for my network credentials ( which i dont remember ever setting up? i went into control panel to edit, but cannot edit anything in network credentials? ) trying to google how to change or add someone to the network so i can try using a diff username and password, but it never works, constantly gets denied, incorrect password. why is this device such a headache to work with? every few days i am locked out for some reason or another

honestly this whole thing is incredibly frustrating and i am not a professional computer person. i just want a drive i can access online when working. all the options on tnas pc are so vaguely described. i dont know what any of it does. also i never set up a log in? for the log in option on TNAS PC?
how do i do that? what is the purpose of the log in option? if i am connected via my network, why would i need to connect thru the log in? im sooo confused.
the second button on the left side of the app says TNAS Servers..What is that? and when i click it it tells me that i need to install the terrasync application. WHAT IS THAT if not the app that i am already using? why is all this so NOT home user friendly?
any help with this stuff is appreciated. the support chat has been unhelpful and slow.

Your question is almost completely unrelated to the topic owner's question, so please create a new topic in the corresponding board yourself.
Please tell us the version of TOS and the model of TNAS you are using.
