F5-221 & Ext USB
Posted: 14 Jul 2023, 21:05
Hi all
I hope someone who is more experienced than me can help me out please.
F5-221
TOS 4.2.402203011626
The 5 Bays are all full with various sized HD's working fine and I can map the 5 hard drives into windows.
Today I added a 6TB Seagate external USB. It shows in TOS control panel under 'External Storage' as NTFS / Good. I have tried to map the external drive (usbshare1) in windows and I get an error message in windows that says 'The network folder specified is currently mapped using a different username and password.'
So far I have reformatted the drive, tested in TOS file manager I CAN add files and folders to the drive, checked permissions for the 'admin' (although these cannot be changed; they are greyed out).
I do not know what I am doing wrong. I am very reluctant (based on the amount of posts I have read) to upgrade to TOS 5 so please please please do not suggest that to me because it frightens the **** out of me, I would rather just buy into another brand and ditch Terramaster altogether
So if anyone has any suggestions please get back to me; it's probably something easy for you guys and I would be eternally greatful.
Cheers, Martin.
