This update includes the following bug fixes and optimization for the previous version:

Bugs fixed
  • Fixed the bug that the transmission speed of encrypted shared folders was slow;
  • Fixed the bug that some computers could not search for TNAS when directly connected to the computer;
  • Fixed the bug that the storage quota displayed in the user settings was incorrect;
  • Fixed the bug that had a chance files in some system partitions were incomplete;
  • Fixed the bug that the empty directory can still be seen after the guest user is disabled;
  • Fixed the bug that the key cannot be exported when the encrypted shared folder key contains special characters;
  • Fixed the bug that had a chance to send the same email repeatedly;
  • Fixed the bug that the guest user does not have read and write permissions by default;
  • Fixed the bug that the 450 series fan control did not work properly;
  • Fixed the bug that the app center page loads slowly;
  • Changed SMB workgroup to WORKGROUP;
  • Changed the working mode of the Intel(R) J3355/J3455 CPU to Performance mode.
Important Notes
  • The kernel of TOS 5.1 has been updated to 5.15. Since the Linux kernel has removed the Intel Celeron J1800/J1900 GPU drivers from 5.15, the models of this platform no longer support GPU hardware video acceleration. If you are a user of this series of models and need to use GPU hardware video acceleration, do not update TOS 5.1! Models involved: F2-220/F2-420/F4-220/F4-420/F5-420
  • Under normal circumstances, the system update will not affect the data in your hard drives, but for your data safety, it is strongly recommended that you back up your data before the update!
How to update your TOS?

Manual update:
1. Download the update package: TOS 5.1.37 (md5:2609e851cf568ed9ba851bfb140b8896)
2. Go to TOS > Control Panel > General Settings > system;
3. Under the "Manual update", upload the update package;
4. Click "Apply";
5. After the system update is complete, you need to refresh your web browser;
6. Your TNAS's IP address may change after the system update, if you are not able to connect to your TNAS with the previous IP, you need to search the new IP again with the TNAC PC client;

TNAS PC:
After updating to TOS 5.1.37, you need to update your current TNAS PC to 5.0.33 or a later version, or you may not able to search your TNAS device.

Installed with no issue. Does seem snappier and network speeds are definitely faster. Not as fast as when TOS 4 was installed but closer.

Docker Redis Log...

1:M 27 May 2023 14:59:26.893 # WARNING Memory overcommit must be enabled! Without it, a background save or replication may fail under low memory condition. Being disabled, it can can also cause failures without low memory condition, see https://github.com/jemalloc/jemalloc/issues/1328. To fix this issue add 'vm.overcommit_memory = 1' to /etc/sysctl.conf and then reboot or run the command 'sysctl vm.overcommit_memory=1' for this to take effect.

Still sends out multiple emails when establishing an SSH session. Still boots in GMT time, uncorrected for local time until manually updated. Still getting intermittent error messages from linux clients

gfollan1@ubuntu2:~$ uname -a
Linux ubuntu2 5.15.0-72-generic #79-Ubuntu SMP Wed Apr 19 08:22:18 UTC 2023 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

[Sat May 27 11:43:17 2023] CIFS: VFS: \\Terramaster sends on sock 00000000b91c7f49 stuck for 15 seconds
[Sat May 27 11:43:17 2023] CIFS: VFS: \\Terramaster Error -11 sending data on socket to server

Solution: This issue has been fixed since the last update 5.1.33. plug in your USB again, and then remove it, the usbshare folder will no more show again.

Updated fine no issues (F4-223) , impressed with the performance updates , becoming a more and more trusted NAS with every update , I'd even go so far to say software wise (at least for my basic needs) is getting close to QNAP and not a million miles away from my Synology
