Anyone else having timeout issues?

I just got a Terramaster f4-423 and I am having timeout issues when moving over large amounts of data.

First I tried moving folders on my USB external drive through the Terramaster interface and those failed after about 30 minutes. I had to hard reset the f4-423, pull out the drives, and start over. I stopped using the Terramaster interface and decided to map a network drive to my Windows 10 system and see if that worked better. It timed out after a few hours of moving data from the external USB drive on my Windows 10 computer to my NAS.

Is anyone else having issues with this? Any ideas on how to speed up the transfer or am I doing something incorrectly? I don't want to reset the NAS and create new permissions for users every time the transfers stop. If my only recourse is doing small batch transfers, this is going to take a long time. I guess I could also FTP the data, but I am not sure that would speed things up since its on USB. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Similar to the phenomenon you described, if the directory name or file name of the files you copy exceeds the length allowed by Linxu, it may cause an interruption. Please check whether the directory name or file name of your files overlong.
After "failure", please confirm whether you can continue to access TOS by other means.
Such as TOS webpage, SSH, Telnet, AFP, Plex, etc.

That may be the issue. I will check the length of directory names going forward. After connection failures, I cannot access TOS by site, through the network drive I setup, or through Plex although the LAN light is blinking green.

I will check later today to see if the directories are long. I don't believe I have many files with names over 255 characters.

I am still having to reset my f4-423 at least 1 time per day after getting time outs when transferring data. Is something wrong with my device?

What did you mean to reset your TNAS? there is no response from your TNAS? hang?
Did you have extra memory module installed? please also check if your drives are healthy with drive manufacturer's disk utility.

What did you mean to reset your TNAS?
I followed the advice from this post viewtopic.php?f=76&t=423

If your TOS system encounters a malfunction and cannot work properly.

1. Turn off your TNAS device;
2. Remove all hard drives;
3. Turn on your TNAS;
4. Wait about two minutes, after the network light is on, use TNAS PC to search for your TNAS device;
5. Clear browser cache;
6. Select the device and click "Login" to the "Initialization" page;
7. Insert your hard drives;
8. Follow the instructions on the web page to install the new TOS system.
there is no response from your TNAS?
The lights for LAN is blinking, but I cannot connect to TOS via browser. I also cannot transfer any files because the mapped network location is no longer available and the TOS cannot be accessed.
Did you have extra memory module installed?
Yes, I did. Its the TERRAMASTER 8G DDR4 RAM SO-DIMM from the Terramaster store on Amazon.
please also check if your drives are healthy with drive manufacturer's disk utility.
The drives are new, and healthy.

It is a non-obvious problem, you can collect a log report and send it to the technical support mailbox for analysis. If necessary, we may arrange an engineer to check it for you.
You can also try to reinstall or update to the latest version 5.1.37, some optimizations may solve your problem.
