I haven't been able to get hw transcoding working on Plex since upgrading to TOS 5.1. I was on TOS 4.x before and it worked just fine. As a workaround, I have installed the official Plex docker image and hw transcoding is working just fine after passing through /dev/dri - so it doesn't look like a kernel issue but something is wrong the userland/libraries in TOS.

Model: F5-221
TOS: 5.1.24
Plex Media Server: 1.3.1

plex user is in group 6 which is media. Is this what you mean?

Issues with hardware transcoding are being fixed. Need to wait for the plex team to update the app.

You can try setting GUID and PUID to 0 in variables.

How can i try this ?
For information i have see a new update on Plex web site and i have the same issue with It (update Plex is 1.31.2)

The new package released by plex has not solved the issue of hardware transcoding.
Please consult the plex team for specific progress.

Ok i understand but this issue is appear only with your TOS 5 not TOS 4 so are you sure isn’t you side?

Other question: this subject impact me so hard could you tel me if i downgrade m’y TOS 5 to 4 i have any lost data ? Or i keep my data? because I know Plex works great with TOS4

Same issue, transcoding isn't using hardware and often actually crashes my Plex app. So is this a TOS 5 issue now? I see no mention of it at all on the Plex forums.
