Bricked F5-420 after TOS 5 install / Update
Posted: 04 Dec 2022, 10:37
Right first of all i updated to TOS v5
it rebooted and was working fine..
it then said there was a new AUTO update available (which i did)
woke up the next day to the NAS being off ..
After trying to turn the unit on
it either just sits with all HDD led lights on RED
with the green power led on with NO LAN Led
Go's into a boot Loop (none stop rebooting)
or wont turn on at all ...
====================================================
No matter what I've tried its still not working...
with or without the Hard Drives connected.
Things I've tried & tested.
I have a second USB drive with TOS version 4 on it
It dose the same with that USB drive in,
i have reset the Bios / Clear Cmos on the Motherboard,
by using the jumper header.. (see Photos)
Also tried taking the 2032 battery out
and doing the Tweezer short across the terminals points,
and replacing the old battery with a new one
encase it was flat ,
Anything else i can try ?
Also Terramaster why don't you sell new replacement motherboards on their own
and make the replacement USB cheaper as the verbatim one you use are only £7 new
and your charging customers of your products £45 for it
or at least sort your main web site support / download area
with all the downloads ie firmware's, TOS / Tnas versions for all of your products
with any important software updates and manuals
sorry for the massive overload of data and the rant .
but im just frustrated after 3 days of trying to get this working again
