TOS 4.2.40 Release Notes

This update includes the following bug fixes for the previous version:
1. Solved the issue that the app center could not load applications.(If you still cannot see the application after updating, please refresh the browser or clear the browser cache.)
2.Increased the timeout period for sending mails
3.Added U4-423,U8-423,U12-423 model related drive
4.Solves some issues of the domain/LDAP.
5.Solved some issues of file managemer.
6.Optimized some Settings for Rsync backup and domain user permissions

Important Notes
1. This update is only for TOS 4.1.31 or later versions. If your TOS version is earlier than TOS 4.1.31, please refer to here.
2. Under normal circumstances, the system update will not affect the data in your hard drives, but for your data safety, it is strongly recommended that you back up your data before the update!

How to update your TOS?

Online update:
1. Go to TOS > Control Panel > General settings > Software update;
2. Check the option "Online update", click "Apply";
3. Follow the prompt to finish the update;

Manual update:
If the check for updates fails, please download the .bz2 package for manual update.
1. Download the update package:
Update package for x.86 models(md5=c4f4444da48cd02f7114f695d7b9828a)
Update package for arm models(md5=b3f2a1f126903f6521c6f3dcdf5a844f)
2. Go to TOS> Control Panel> General Settings> Update & Restore, and click “Manual Update”;
3. Click "Browse" to select the update package;
4. Click "Apply";

Updated and lost all my instlled applications, re installed emby and now it won't start. FML. How do I fix?

updated, no issues to report, all apps are still visible and working upon reboot

only frustration is the DLNA media server needs to rescan the folders and re-create its media list everytime the unit is booted up, in my eyes this is unessessary processing power as it should retain its media list upon a reboot

do you have more detailed info on how to do this, i have checked the afp.conf file as well as the global one, there doesnt seem to be any hint of a version number (happy to SSH to the nas drive, but dont know what to do after that)

After updating from 4.2.39 to 4.2.40 is anyone having issues or problems with Plex Media Server?? Does PMS work properly after rebooting??

i used to have awful problems with plex after any update, so much so i gave up using it, i found the DLNA media server app much easier to get on with i know it doesnt have transcoding ability so i have to manually encode the media correctly, but to be honest i record off the TV with a HDMI recorder so that does MP4's which is natively supported
