I have mapped the network drive in OSX using the Time Machine volume I made in the backup terramaster app. When I go to select the disk I get:
drive does not support required Time Machine capabilities
BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
I've gone into file sharing but advanced options are greyed out for me to check the "use as timemachine" option
Advise?

Re: Time Machine Error BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
Hi,
I have the same problem. I'm running TOS 4.1 on a F2-420. I created a shared folder on an internal, btrfs formatted disk. I then enabled this folder for time machine in the Backup app.
Time Machine in macOS 10.15.5 shows the network folder just fine, but when I pick it and enter the credentials, I get this error:
"The selected network backup disk does not support the required capabilities.
Please choose a different network backup disk."
What can I do?
thanks, geb

Re: Time Machine Error BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
Hi gebseng,
Firstly make sure the SMB, AFP file service and Bonjour service have been enabled on the control panel, showing as following attachments: Secondly, you need to enabled the Time machine backup from "Backup" on TOS desktop, and set a backup shared folder to your backup task. At last, before you doing a Time Machine backup, go to Go > connect to server, connect to your nas service via AFP file service.

Re: Time Machine Error BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
Hi Roy,
Thanks for the swift reply.
I can confirm that SMB, AFP and Bonjour are enabled on the F2-420. I can also confirm that time machine is enabled in the tos backup app, and the designated shared folder is showing up and mounted on the Mac.
If this was not the case, I wouldn’t be able to select the NAS drive In the first place.
But the problem as described persists. What els can you suggest?
Thanks, geb

Re: Time Machine Error BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
Well, Time Machine backup is a very popular service. We did not have such case before you.
Did you set the permission correctly for the shared folder which you use to be your backup destination?

Thanks for the reply! Attached is a screenshot showing the permissions of the shared folder I tried to use.
Re: Time Machine Error BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
I did not find anything wrong from the screenshot. Would you just update the TOS and try again?

Thanks for the suggestion. I already had TOS 4.1.27 installed yesterday, screenshot is attached.
Re: Time Machine Error BACKUP DISK DOES NOT SUPPORT THE REQUIRED CAPABILITIES
Hi again, is there anything else I can do to fix time machine support?
